Since 2016, Planos has transformed Tomar into a meeting point for short‑form cinema. The ninth edition takes place in November 2025 at Cine-teatro Paraíso and promises once again to fill the big screen with new stories, perspectives, and voices.
The festival was born from a simple idea: to create a space where short films from around the world could be shared, reflected upon, and celebrated. Over the years, more than 300 short films from over 50 countries have been showcased at Planos. Many of them had already toured the biggest international festivals and chose Tomar as the stage for their premiere in Portugal.
Films by everyone, for everyone
This is the manifesto that guides each edition — an open window to different cultures, communities, and identities. Here there is room for intense dramas, light comedies, bold fantasies, and raw realities. A selection that is always diverse and inclusive, transforming the way we see cinema… and the world.
Planos is cinema in its purest form: made to be discovered, shared, and experienced by everyone.

In the heart of Tomar stands a space steeped in history: the Cineteatro Paraíso. A century‑old building that, since the early 20th century, has been a stage for cultural, artistic, and community gatherings.
